Flange protectors extend pipe lifetimes
Unprotected gaps around the outside diameters of flange joints allow moisture and debris to degrade a ring joint or gasket edge and reduce sealing efficiency.

Flange protectors boost efficiency
Flange protectors provide versatile and easy-to-fit way to boost efficiency, safety and life of process industry pipelines while giving environmental benefits and simplifying maintenance.
Metal-to-metal seals suit oilfield duties
Ongoing development in manufacturing metal-to-metal seals and components for oilfield equipment leads to expanded capabilities in the CNC manufacture of annular products.
Flange faces can become hazardously corroded, leading to costly maintenance and plant downtime.
A Moorflex Flange Protector is swiftly and easily installed without interrupting the process flow.
In operation, the outside edges of the mating flanges are completely sealed with a flexible stainless steel band that is lined with closed cell neoprene sponge rubber.
The ends of the steel band are fitted with a worm-drive fastener so that the two ends can be wrapped around the outside of the flange and the band tightened in position with the rubber liner compressed firmly against the flange edges.
A lubricating nipple allows grease to be pumped into the gap between the flanges and a small removable plug on the opposite side enables an engineer to check that the gap is fully packed.
These robust protectors are lightweight and can be re-used many times, making them a highly cost-effective method of corrosion reduction that allows flange joints to be maintained with improved efficiency.
The standard range operates at up to 120C, with alternative materials available for higher temperature applications.
They come ready for installation in labelled sizes to fit all pipeline flanges. Request a free brochure from James Walker Moorflex ...
