The new JR-1001 data logger from ACR systems is designed to meet UL and CSA standards for operation under hazardous conditions in Class 1 and Class 2.
The JR-1001 temperature recorder - distributed in the UK by JDL - is an electronic recording device designed to measure changes in temperature at user set intervals in Class 1 environments in which flammable gases - liquids or vapours - are likely to exist and Class II environments in which combustible dust is likely to exist.
To be described intrinsically safe, an instrument must not produce sparks or any other thermal effect under normal or abnormal use in any of these conditions.
Self-contained in a hard polyurethane casing, the JR-1001 is built to meet these standards.
For example, it can be used to monitor the defrost cycle for food or the degradation of stored munitions.
Other applications can include, medical applications in hospitals, pharmaceutical research, or storing petrochemicals.
D ealing with flammable and combustible liquids, dust or compressed gases, the JR-1001 can be an important piece of useful safety equipment said JDL.
In addition to being intrinsically safe it is built to the exacting standards of all ACR's data loggers.
It measures 33mm x 20mm and weighs 35 grams and runs off its own lithium battery with a five-year warranty.
The data logger has an operating range of -40C to +85C, and its internal Thermistor temperature sensor is accurate to +/-0.2 degrees C at 25 degrees C.
The new temperature recorder comes complete with the ACR Trendreader Express software that features zooming, advanced graph control, battery life indicator (when set up), and auto scale.
A non-IS version JR-1000 is also available.
