Battery-operated palm-sized data loggers from ACR in Canada allow reliable monitoring of relative humidity and temperature conditions with confidence over a long period of time.

Battery-operated palm-sized data loggers from ACR in Canada answer requirements for reliable monitoring of relative humidity and temperature conditions with confidence over a long period of time The first requirement is relative humidity accuracy and temperature sensing

For the cost conscious the TRH-1000 8bit device is a simple RH and temperature logger with an accuracy of +/-4% for 20-80% RH and with a memory of 32Kbyte, this is supplied with its own software and simply plugs into the COM port of a PC.

The SR-2 8bit +/-4% (10-90% RH) with 32Kbyte memory range of devices is normally adequate although an SRP-2 12bit +/-3% (10-90% RH) with an 128Kbyte memory device is also available for those more demanding requirements.

The second major requirement is the software, this must be intuitive, easy to install and use.

TrendReader for SR series and TrendReader Plus for SRP series software is just that.

Yet it is extremely powerful, offering very simple and easy facilities with the Plus version having a wide range of add on options.

Sample rates can easily be set up from a few seconds to a few hours between readings.

This sample rate will obviously affect capacity of logger readings, fast sampling will fill up the memory faster than slower readings.

The software allows the user to either recycle on a first in first out basis or stop when full.

The relative humidity sensors used in the SR and SRP series are relatively immune to chemical contamination but when exposed to certain contaminants and or extreme conditions, accuracy degradation could result.

The data loggers therefore have exchangeable sensors that can readily be plugged into the logger and easily have the calibration installed.

They also have the option feature of installing remote RH and Temperature sensor assemblies The TRH-1000 just has the two channels and the sensors are not replaceable.
