Software simplifies logger setup and alarms

A JDL (Just Data Loggers) product story

TrendReader software incorporates standard features such as simple logger setup, easy integration of data collected, graphing, real-time viewing and annotation of salient points.

The TrendReader software package for ACR data logging products is constantly being expanded.

Incorporating many standard features such as simple logger setup, easy integration of data collected, graphing, real-time viewing and annotation of the salient points to be noted, TrendReader now offers several addon modules.

In the hardware-based systems, the alarm signal comes from the SmartReader Plus 12bit data logger's alarm dial out feature.

The SRP data logger is capable of being connected via its communications jack to a modem and programmed with a pager number to dial if an alarm condition exists.

An alarm module can be connected to the srp data logger's communications jack.

it is designed to accept the alarm dial out signal from the data logger and to produce an audible alarm and flashing light as well as trip an internal relay which can be used to enable or energise an external circuit (up to 2A) such as a siren, light or some other device.

Real time monitor software generates alarms based on the real time readings it sees independent of the alarm dial out feature in the SRP logger.

The software enables the user to have alarms generated by any ACR unit purely based on the real time readings produced from the loggers.

The alarms are purely software related and require the loggers to be connected to the computer and running in real time.

When an alarm condition is encountered, the real time monitor software can display the condition on the computer screen, beep, play a wave file or invoke an external program to start running.

(The external program is to be supplied or written by the user).

TalkBack software automatically downloads logged information and responds to alarms when using the 12bit SRP series loggers.

The ACR TalkBack program can accept a call from the SRP logger in this mode as well as if it is running on a computer and the alarm dial out on the SRP logger is set to call the computer modem (or is directly connected to the computer's COM port).

The TalkBack software can display the condition on the computer screen (flash message), beep, play a WAV file or invoke an external program to start running.

Real-time graphing can be performed as the data logger records information, and networking and remote communications facilities are provided for communication with single or multiple data loggers over a modem.

Easy and user intuitive facilities make for easy data logging using the ACR range of self-powered, palm-sised instruments that can measure and record temperature, relative humidity, electric current, pressure, process signals, pulse frequency, power quality and more.

Updates for existing TrendReader users can be downloaded from the manufacturer's website www.acrsystems.com free of charge.
