The time when a precision machining centre was inspected and overhauled at leisure, during a summer shutdown, has long past.
Now, says Jena Tec, UK leader in precision ballscrew and spindle replacement, customers demand immediate solutions to pre-empt any prospect of machine tool failure.
Responding to this, the Jena-Tec group, with manufacturing centres in the UK, USA and Germany, has extensively expanded its replacement parts and support service to UK production organisations by offering a fast diagnostic, repair and replacement service to ensure users maintain their production schedules, even when a critical rotary component may be showing signs of malfunction or failure.
By providing custom-replacements, often from stock, Jena-Tec can assure its customers rarely encounter production delays.
According to Jena-Tec, the design of its precision ground ballscrews makes them the ideal replacement in most major US, German and Japanese CNC machining centres, where, typically, diagnostics, repair or replacement can be achieved in under 48 hours as a premium service.
The same applies to precision spindles, which, along with the Boneham and Turner (B and T) range, a wide range of OEM spindles can be refurbished and returned into service - from simple belt driven spindles to heavy-duty motorised units.
Jena-Tec also provides customised replacement units from the B and T range in addition to offering GMN and Colombo spindles.
Applications in this sector are varied, including woodworking, special process machinery, metal cutting and grinding.
The Jena-Tec service to MROs is centred on their new world class 1200m2 resource at the Sherwood Business Park, off the M1, in Nottinghamshire which embraces state-of the art diagnostics, test and cleanroom assembly, CNC turning, milling, grinding, jig and horizontal boring for the customisation of their extensive ballscrew and spindles ranges.
Jena-Tec precision ballscrews and B and T spindles have long been specified by OEMs throughout Europe and the US, and now through their high-level investment in a dedicated service to maintenance and repair operations they are offering a true total service to UK production and manufacture.
