A special bearing developed for high-speed elevators enables accurate positioning to be maintained while minimising noise levels within the cabin.

A special bearing, developed by Jesa for high-speed elevators enables accurate positioning to be maintained while minimising noise levels within the cabin The design addresses a common problem - that of the cabin not always stopping at exactly the right position

Difficulties of this nature are often associated with inaccuracies and slippage on the positioning sensor system.

The design takes the form of a double-row ball bearing with a single hard plastic overmoulding, incorporating a soft rolling surface on the outer diameter.

This provides excellent sensor track adhesion, and so ensures consistent positioning.

At the same time, it prevents slippage and deformation.

The hard plastic bearing hub design contributes to reduced vibration and noise levels, and the soft thermoplastic outer minimises wear.

Performance features are maintained irrespective of elevator speed and length of travel.
