Problems of 'questionable accuracy' with another company's existing equipment have been overcome by a Jiskoot CoJetix combined sampling and mixing system on a 4in crude oil line at the Shell BP South African Petroleum Refineries Sapref site.
Installation of an internationally renowned sampling system has the benefit of minimising difficulties in agreeing outturns.
Low-cost installation was another advantage as it can be hot tapped, and a byscoop extractor can reach the central third of the largest pipeline.
The CoJetix system combines a Jetmix mixing nozzle and a fast-loop sampler in a single system, with a sample receiver skid and a Jiskoot Inturbine for flow measurement, all controlled and monitored by a Jiskoot Insight controller with Zone 1 IIB T4 rating.
A full bore sample extractor' has an inlet 200 times the size of an in-line probe, ensuring extremely high accuracy and representivity.
Samples are discharged into low-pressure receivers for subsequent analysis, with exceptionally low retained volume between the two minimising the risk of cross batch contamination.
Batch sample bias is eliminated by insensitivity to variations in pipeline pressure or fluid properties such as viscosity.
The Insight sample controller provides the guarantee of accurate real-time operation and samples in either a flow or time proportional manner.
It has an easy-to-use touch screen interface that offers sophisticated configuration options for supervisors and engineers.
