A Jiskoot product story

Problems caused by high rainfall and the need to replace an existing system led Shell Gabon to select Jiskoot Autocontrol fast loop sampling systems.

Problems caused by high rainfall and the need to replace an existing system led Shell Gabon to select Jiskoot Autocontrol fast loop sampling systems.

The bidding and procurement process was conducted live on the internet and the contract was awarded to Jiskoot reportedly due to its "superior technical offer, despite cheaper competition".

The four systems will be installed at Shell terminals to provide samples for water content and density analysis of crude oil shipments while they are loaded onto tankers.

Each system includes a 210-cell sampler, low-pressure PR series sample receivers, grab sensors, CanWeigh and an InSight controller.

The CanWeigh and grab sensors provide continual monitoring of the sampling operations to ensure total compliance to standards and warn operators of any errors during the loading process.

Information from the CanWeigh is used by the InSight controller to automatically change the sample receivers when full to minimise the need for operator interface and reduce the possibility of sample contamination.

The systems were supplied mounted in IP55 stainless-steel housings fitted with personnel weather protection canopies.
