Samplers set to survive the desert

A Jiskoot product story

Jiskoot has designed and manufactured four sampling system pumping stations for use in high ambient temperatures and desert conditions at the Azrew export terminal on the north coast of Algeria.

Jiskoot has designed and manufactured four sampling system pumping stations to suit extremely high ambient temperatures and desert conditions for the Azrew export terminal on the northern coast of Algeria.

Supplied to a major engineering group in France for installation on pipeline ranging in size from 28 to 40in, the systems provide full ISO3171 traceability of sampling from the pumping stations right through to the point of export.

Each has a dedicated Jiskoot Insight sample controller configured for integration with the user's existing DCS control system.

Touch-screen instruments designed specifically for control of sampling systems, in compliance to all of the international sampling standards, these controllers provide full online monitoring of sampling system performance during operation.

The systems include performance factor weighing to measure the mass of accumulated sample throughout the batch and have a low flow monitor and switch to ensure flow is present at all times through the sample bypass loop.

Each bypass loop incorporates a flow control valve to allow the flow within the fast loop to be set as isokenetic with the main flow line as per sampling standards.

The 1in bypass loop is designed so that pipeline mixing is maintained throughout the sampling loop to eliminate the possibility of any water dropout causing a sample bias in the batch.

The systems have manual sample points as well as sample receivers.

They were supplied with all documentation and labelling in French for ease of use by the Algerian operators.
