Isofraction system measures cargo-vessel contents

A Jiskoot product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Sep 21, 2009

Jiskoot has announced that its automatic Isofraction LNG sampling system has been specified for a LNG export terminal in west Africa to accurately measure the contents of cargo vessels.

The Jiskoot system is supplied with a performance guarantee validating its repeatability for BTU and density of 0.2 per cent or better when validated in accordance with BS12838.

Even small errors in BTU measurement could mean undervaluing cargoes by much as USD1.25 (GBP0.76)/MT or more.

Selected for batch valuation as it can automatically extract three representative samples simultaneously, the Atex-certified system's two sample probes and cryogenic valve assemblies are inserted into the main pipeline, used in a duty/standby configuration.

A 150W vaporiser mounted to each assembly controls re-gasification, raising the temperature from -163C to about +20C.
