JK microsystems has released a new I/O upgrade option for the popular uFlashTCP-EP controller.

Ideal for industrial environments, the uFlashTCP-EP is a fully packaged and programmable solution for serial/Ethernet conversion applications - interfacing existing RS232 or RS485 equipped devices to networks.

The new I/O breakout upgrade adds flexibility to this industry proven platform.

Conveniently packaged in a rugged aluminium enclosure, the uFlashTCP-EP provides 10BASE-T Ethernet, an RS232 serial port and a software selectable RS232/RS485 serial port with industry standard connectors.

Standard features also include status LEDs, reset button, 7-34V DC voltage regulator, 512Kbyte SRAM and 512Kbyte Flash memory, as well as a socket to expand nonvolatile memory using M-Systems DiskOnChip products.

The Intel 386Ex microprocessor and preloaded DOS, TCP/IP and web server software offer familiarity and ease of use for developers.

The I/O breakout upgrade provides easy access to 10 digital I/O lines and ground via a wire screw terminal at the front of the uFlashTCP-EP.

Starting at only $275, the complete uFlashTCP-EP I/O Breakout assembly adds to JK microsystems line of cost-effective embedded solutions.
