Electric shaker removes scrap from stamping press

A Magnetic Products product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team May 21, 2009

When Toledo Tool and Die (TTD) approached Press Automation-Fluidline looking for an improved method to remove scrap from its stamping press, Magnetic Products recommended the M-50 electric shaker.

The M-50 is maintenance free, runs on plug-and-play 120V AC and runs at less than 0.5A draw.

MPI loaned TDD an M-50 on a free-trial basis.

Once in place, TDD staff said that the M-50 was the perfect solution and decided that several more similar units were needed.

TTD had been using air-powered shakers for a number of years, with normal, limited success.

Air shakers are known to require frequent maintenance, to be noisy and to perform inconsistently.

TTD's current air shaker was extremely inefficient and consuming vast quantities of air.

'The M-50 electric shaker from Magnetic Products has already proven to be more reliable than any other shaker we've seen,' said Larry Kubiak, TTD production manager.
