Sealing system eliminates O-rings
Latest development to the John Crane GD Gas and Dry Lubricated vessel and reactor sealing system is the elimination of O-rings through a spring-energised PRP ring for secondary and shaft sealing
The new 4620P is a compact, general duty dual O-ring cartridge seal that features an integral pumping ring.
It offers an affordable and highly efficient sealing solution that is sufficiently versatile to be used across a wide variety of industrial situations.
Able to satisfy key industry standards, the 4620P is designed to permit use in rotating shaft equipment including ANSI/DIN pumps, close-coupled pumps, vertical water pumps and other similar equipment.
It incorporates an elastomer O-ring which functions as the dynamic secondary sealing member, plus an inboard primary and mating ring design which allows for ID or OD pressurisation and which enables unpressurised tandem or pressurised double seal operation.
The pumping ring as standard eliminates the need to carry extra spares stocks, and the factory preset and tested cartridge design eliminates potential assembly and installation errors.
The new seal complements John Crane's existing 4610 single O-ring cartridge seal.
This has proved sufficiently popular since its introduction just two years ago for new sizes to now be made available.
The original 70mm diameter size has now been extended to 100mm (with a further extension to 140mm imminent) making the 4610 suitable for an even wider variety of applications.
Together, the various options in the newly expanded 4600 range allow John Crane customers to select a thoroughly proven sealing solution which will combine outstanding performance with value for money, and which carries the backing of the internationally recognised leader in sealing technology.
