Cost effective solution for machine
safety
The Vital solution from Jokab Safety is a cost effective way to interconnect many types of safety devices on the same safety circuit and still achieve category 4 according to EN954-1.
The Vital solution from Jokab Safety is a cost effective way to interconnect many types of safety devices on the same safety circuit and still achieve category 4 according to EN954-1 The Vital solution can allow up to 30 safety devices on one circuit, thereby reducing the number of safety relays compared with a usual category 4 installation

Vital upgrade covers strict requirements
When engineers at Cooper Tire and Rubber were tasked with upgrading the safety system on an crucial manufacturing machine built in the 1960s, it was important to minimise downtime.
The heart of the system is the Vital, which is the size of a small safety relay (22.5mm width).
The Vital dynamically supervises many types of device and has two safety outputs.
It can be set up for automatic or manual reset and has an output for PLCs.
Dynamic sensors can be connected directly to the Vital control module and safety components with contact outputs can be connected in to the circuit via a Tina interface module.
The Eden dynamic sensor is a noncontact safety sensor that is made up of an active sensor and a passive unit, called Adam and Eve, respectively.
The sensor Adam, can be mounted up to 10mm away from the Eve unit.
This offers the user a wide range of mounting options.
The Spot sensors are a family of photoelectric safety light beams which can be used for machine or perimeter guard applications.
The light beams can be used up to 35m apart.
Tina interfaces can be used for connecting other types of safety devices such as safety mats, emergency stop buttons, safety switches and light guards.
