The new Focus range of light curtains and grids have the flexibility for a wide range of applications.

The new Focus range of light curtains and grids have the flexibility for a wide range of applications.

Focus light curtains are available in both 14 and 35mm resolution and there are nine different protection heights ranging from 150 to 1650mm.

The enclosure is only 35 x 45mm and connection is made by plug and socket in order to ensure a protection class of IP65 All light guards have two OSSD outputs and are suitable for 24V DC supply.

There are two versions available.

The standard option has the facility incorporated for lamp supervised muting.

This means the user does not have to buy another module for bypassing the light curtain.

The inputs and software are already in the curtain, which reduces costs for wiring time and for bypass controllers.

It is also possible to mute up to four sections of the light curtain for special applications.

There is also a "pre-reset" function, which allows a more secure approach to restarting machinery when operators could be in a danger area.

This allows an operator to trip the light curtain and in order to restart the machine a push button, must be pressed to give a signal to the light curtain.

This pre-reset button, must be placed so the operator can visually ensure that no one else is in danger in the machine area.

The operator has then eight seconds to walk out of the machine danger area and press the reset button.

If they are too late, the operator will have to press the pre-reset again.

This reduces the costs of using extra light guards or other safety devices to detect if operators are in a cell or machine area.

The second option offers floating blanking for applications such as presses and pressbrakes.

Focus light grids come in two-, three- or four-beam systems.

These grids can be used for long distance and perimeter applications.

They have the same features as the standard units which makes them ideal for entry/exit applications.

The Focus range can be set up for a T- or L-shaped configuration.

These units have muting sensors inbuilt and they have been designed for palletising applications All Focus products have an alignment indicator to assist the user during installation.

The Focus light guards are certified for both type 2 and 4 according to EN61496.
