A Jokab Safety UK product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Nov 19, 2008

Jokab Safety has been awarded an IP69K specification for Eden E safety switches.

Eden E is a high-integrity version of the standard Eden switches.

The switches are enclosed in a polypropen covering, which means that the switches can be utilised in areas where there is a possibility of water spray and rapid change of temperature.

Eden E has been successfully used on machinery in dairies and process plant, as these areas require the machinery to be washed down with high-pressure hoses.

Eden E is made up of two components.

Adam E 10M is an active component and has a 10m cable connection, whereas Eva E is a passive component and requires no electrical connection at all.

Eden E is a non-contact switch and has a sensing distance of around 12mm.

The sensors can be mounted such they have a 360deg possibility.

The safety switches have an LED indicator to enable to user to see what state the sensor is during alignment and operation.

Typical applications for Eden switches are doors and hatches, and position control.

Eden safety switches interface with a Vital 1 control unit to offer the user a safety category 4 solution.
