Jokab Safety adds sensors and AS-i nodes to JSHD4

A Jokab Safety UK product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Apr 24, 2009

Jokab Safety has enhanced its JSHD4 three-position enabling device with sensors for human-hand detection and AS-i connections for safety and machine control.

In order to give an output signal, a human hand is needed to grip the handle and a pair of three-position pushbuttons has to be pressed to the middle position.

When the switch is released or pressed to the third position, a double stop signal is given.

The sensor, which is intended to ensure that the pushbuttons are pressed by a human hand, increases the safety level by preventing any manipulations.

The AS-i nodes inside the enabling device increase the ergonomics in such a way that only two wires need to be connected to the device.

This way, lightweight cables with M12 connections can be used.
