A new version of the 4AP-30 pressure transmitter from Jumo Instruments is accurate to within +/-0.01% per degC and can be used with a wide variety of equipment to measure pressure sterilizers.

A new version of the highly successful 4AP-30 pressure transmitter from Jumo Instruments helps organisations operating within stringent safety limits to ensure absolute accuracy in their sterilisation procedures.

With an accuracy of 0.01% per degC and a wide range of, for example, 0-4 bar absolute, the 4AP-30 can be used with a wide variety of equipment to measure pressure in sterilizers.

The 4AP-30 is a stainless steel, piezo-resistive transmitter with a simple mode of operation.

The pressure of the medium to be measured acts on the separating diaphragm, which transmits the pressure through a liquid to a silicon diaphragm with a doped resistance bridge.

This, in turn, operates on the piezo-resistive principle: it is connected to a constant voltage supply via a temperature compensation circuit.

The output signal of the resistance bridge is amplified in a differential amplifier with high input impedance.

The span is adjusted with a trimmer.

The amplifier, which has an adjustable gain, enables zero adjustment.

With a current output of 4-20mA, the output signal is converted into a proportional current in the U/I converter.

The 4AP-30 operates in permitted ambient temperatures of -30 to +120C, while the permitted temperature of the medium is -40 to +120C.

Typical response times are under 3msec.

For sterilizer applications, the unit is supplied with a BSP connector (other versions are available with screw threads of different sizes, a milk pipe connector, a clamp connector and a mini flange, or to special order).
