Jumo Instruments is endorsing its newly announced launch into the fluid measurement market with the introduction of the dTRANS p02 Delta, a highly accurate differential pressure transmitter for measuring the level and flow of corrosive and non-corrosive liquids, vapours and gases.
Designed for users such as water companies, brewers and flowmeter manufacturers, the dTRANS p02 Delta is a smart transmitter providing extremely accurate, reliable and cost-effective pressure measurement, with the added advantage that it can be set up and controlled from a central computer using HART communications.
It is also approved to EEX ia IIC T4-T6 standards, so can be used in most hazardous areas.
The high measuring accuracy comes from the fact that, unlike most other pressure transmitters, the dTRANS p02 Delta has built-in, microprocessor-controlled temperature compensation.
As a result, as the temperature of the medium being monitored changes, the accuracy of the transmitter remains constant: it permits turn-downs greater than 10:1.
The dTRANS p02 Delta can be used to display a wide range of values, including input pressure (displayed in 13 different dimensional units or as a percentage), output current, sensor temperature, measurement error, measurement out of range, and minimum and maximum pressure.
Medium temperatures are supported between -40øC and +100øC.
The pressure sensor is based on Jumo's well proven pressure sensor technology, which can measure pressures from 20mbar to 600bar.
Pressure connections are available in many variations to support, for example, clean in place (CIP) applications.
As an option, the dTRANS p02 Delta can be supplied with full HART communications and Jumo's proprietary set-up software.
This allows multiple units to be set up and monitored from a central personal computer.
The innovative design of dTRANS p02 Delta makes it extremely easy to use and set up: all adjustments are done from the front LCD display and keypad, including range start, range end and zero point.
This saves time as it is unnecessary to open or remove the unit.
All errors resulting from mounting position and environmental influences are automatically included in the set-up, so high levels of accuracy are ensured.
The same adjustments can also be made via the HART communications interface.
Other features include self-diagnosis of the electronics and sensor, error signalling on the LCD, and alarms by both analogue signal and HART.
