Jumo Ex thermostats have passed the EU type examination in accordance with ATEX Directive 94/9/EC, and are approved for use in both Zone 1 and Zone 21.

Jumo Ex thermostats have passed the EU type examination in accordance with ATEX Directive 94/9/EC, and are approved as electrical equipment for the control and monitoring of temperature in both potentially explosive gas atmospheres in Zone 1 and potentially explosive dust atmospheres in Zone 21 This series of instruments can be supplied for various temperature ranges from -20 to + 500C as: temperature monitors; fail-safe temperature monitors; temperature limiters; and fail-safe protection temperature limiters

The electrical switching device is a microswitch in a flameproof enclosure, with a changeover contact rated for 16A at 230V AC.

The housing is made from glass-fibre-reinforced polyester, and fulfils enclosure protection EN60529-IP65.
