Alarm specialist consolidates in Redditch

A KAC Alarm Company product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Nov 12, 2001

KAC has amalgamated all production and administration onto its existing site in Redditch to improve service levels through simplifying logistics and creating additional finished goods space

KAC has amalgamated all production and administration onto its existing site in Redditch from 10 December.

A new office building, warehouse and despatch area has been constructed alongside the existing production building to give a total of 3800 square metres floor space.

The move results from sustained organic growth in its core break glass call point business, the positive response to its development of its new World Series family of sounders and strobes and the addition of detectors to its product package for the fire and security industries.

The consolidation onto one site will improve service levels through simplifying logistics; additional space has been allocated for increased finished goods stock holding and an expanded R and D facility, including an anechoic chamber for further sounder developments, will enable new products' time to market to be reduced.

Employment has steadily increased during the last eighteen months as the business has grown and approximately 180 people will be employed on the new site.

The Alcester operation will be closed once all departments are transferred to the Redditch plant.
