Two poles are better than one in an emergency

KAC has introduced double-pole versions of its break glass and resettable manual call points.

KAC has introduced double-pole versions of its break glass and resettable manual call points.

Identical in size to the normal single-pole units, the double-pole devices provide two independently switched sets of contacts, actuated simultaneously on operation in the normal way.

The new call points have numerous applications across a variety of industries.

In security systems, for example, they can operate an electromechanical emergency exit door lock and simultaneously initiate a warning signal to the control panel.

In process control, one pole of the unit can be used as an emergency stop for say a vessel's heater and the other to actuate a local extinguishing system.

In a fire system, one pair of contacts could initiate a fire alarm signal to the panel in the normal way, while the other could be used to operate local door closers in the vicinity of the call point.

Both pairs of contacts are rated at 2.0A at 24V DC resistive or inductive load.
