Rear axle welding system for Renault Turkey

A KaleAltinay Robotics product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Aug 20, 2002

KaleAltinay Robotics has developed a rear axle welding and measuring system for Renault Turkey.

Renault Turkey is one of two European manufacturers for chassis equipment, with ACI Le Mans, producing the Clio and Megane models (150-200 cars per day for new Megane).

KaleAltinay Robotics has developed a rear axle welding and measuring system for the plant with a 25 x 12m floor area and four different robotic cells.

It features Cpdp-500 welding power sources, HKS welding quality assurance system, TWP torch cleaning units, water-cooled 500a torches and four roller wire feeders, plus SIMACO water cooling units.

There are six OTC-Daihen dr-4200l welding robots with 14-axis controllers and two Nachi sf-133 handling robots.

Each fixture includes pneumatically controlled clamps and part sensors.

KaleAltinay Robotics managed to design and manufacture the system in nine months.

The system is currently working in KaleAltinay Robotics' plant.

And after the road tests, which are still ongoing, the system will move to the Bursa plant of Renault for serial production.
