Drives and Controls best exhibition for industry
The co-location of the Drives and Controls 06 exhibition with other major manufacturing shows was believed by many to be a contributory factor to their increased visitor numbers
Drives and Controls has grown to be one of the UK's foremost engineering events.
The exhibition has been exceptionally well supported by both exhibitors and visitors, while the conference consistently attracts delegates and speakers from around the globe.
Held originally at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham in response to requests from industry for a dedicated motion show, Drives and Controls was then hosted for six successful years at the Telford International Exhibition Centre.
It was clear in the last couple of years at the Telford Centre that the location was becoming inadequate for an event with 250 exhibitors and visitor numbers approaching 7000.
However, because of the NEC's policy of hosting only non-conflicting events - the show was believed to conflict with Control and Instrumentation and Manufacturing Week - Drives and Controls has never been able to take up residence in Birmingham.
That situation has now changed.
Ken Purchase, managing director of Kamtech explained, "There is no question that most exhibitors have always favoured going to the NEC, but they have understood our past predicament.
The obstacles to our using the NEC have now been removed and it is an obvious option to take advantage of the facilities, infrastructure, flexibility and easy access afforded by that venue". Request free introductory details about products from DFA Media ...
