The Drives and Controls exhibition is moving back to its traditional home at Telford next year.

The Drives and Controls exhibition is moving back to its traditional home at Telford next year.

The show will be held from Tuesday 12th to Thursday 14th October 2004, at Telford's smart new International Centre.

Telford is the spiritual birthplace of engineering and the natural home for the Drives and Controls Exhibition.

Six highly successful drives events have previously been held at the venue, which has recently been transformed by a GBP 9 million investment, to make it the most modern conference and exhibition venue in the UK.

The International Centre now has some of the best conference facilities of any UK venue, coupled with the best visitor and exhibitor services, from furnishings and power to accommodation and catering.

There's low cost enhanced parking, two hotels within a minute's walk of the centre itself plus several more within 5 minutes drive, as well as a number of top class restaurants in the town and its surrounding area.

Drives and Controls' Ken Purchase says that listening to show exhibitors and visitors prompted the move to the International Centre: "People genuinely liked Telford and, after talking to the International Centre's management team, and seeing the modernisation, we concluded that it was an obvious choice for us to move the show back to the town - it's coming home".

Plans are also at an advanced stage to launch a major new conference programme that's anticipated to appeal to a broad spectrum of both UK and overseas engineers.

The conference will run alongside the exhibition in the fantastic new and purpose built on-site facilities.

Finally, attendance figures from this year's show have confirmed Drives and Controls' place among the top UK industrial shows.

Over 3500 people attended the June event, with senior engineers and managers making up a much higher proportion of visitors than in recent years.
