The compressed air and pneumatics industries are to get their own show in 2006.

The compressed air and pneumatics industries are to get their own show in 2006.

Designated AirTech the event will be colocated with Drives and Controls, Electrex, MACH, Weldex, Subcon 2006 and NEEDS 2006 in the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.

The result is likely to be the largest engineering event held in the UK in 2006.

Exhibitors at AirTech will reap the benefits of having six events under one roof.

"Many of the visitors to each show could gain significant advantage by visiting the colocated events", explained Ryan Fuller, of AirTech organiser DFA Media.

"For instance, buyers of electromechanical motion solutions in MACH might be interested in looking at pneumatic solutions in AirTech and vice versa".

"Of course, automation control protocols (for instance fieldbus) increasingly embrace both air and electrical actuation".

"So visitors can optimise solutions for particular applications, reducing lifetime costs for customers and increasing profitability all round - a 'win-win' situation".

AirTech will provide visitors with the opportunity to explore the latest advances in compressed air power and pneumatics technology.

The show will focus on the factors that must be considered when selecting, installing, controlling and operating compressed air and pneumatic systems.

Among the products that will be exhibited are air compressors, pipework, hose and fittings, pneumatic valves, cylinders, and other actuators.

Air dryers, condensing separators, heat exchangers and control systems will also be on display.

"The addition of AirTech to our portfolio of exhibitions is the direct result of customer and market feedback", explained Fuller.

"Equally, the colocation with other exhibitions this year comes as a result of asking the Industry what they want".

"By taking these measures we retain the status of the Drives and Controls show - it's still somewhere a design engineer can go to specify everything he might need for a drives application".

"However, in addition that same engineer can now investigate complementary technologies".
