Exhibitors at Electrex 06 will be making the most of appearing at the UK's major electrical engineering event to showcase some innovative developments.

Exhibitors at Electrex 06 will be making the most of appearing at the UK's major electrical engineering event to showcase some innovative developments.

Among those exhibiting are testing equipment suppliers Fluke and High Voltage Systems, connectors manufacturer Multi-Contact and components giant Richco.

Electrex 06 will be colocated with a group of the biggest manufacturing and engineering trade exhibitions at the Birmingham NEC in May.

Drives and Controls, AirTech, Subcon and the first National Electrical and Electronics Directives (NEEDS) conference will all take place alongside Electrex, making attendance at the event a must for all those involved in manufacturing and engineering.

Electrex's strength has always been the diversity of products and services on show and this year's event is no different.

Components giant Richco will be introducing the Q-tie at Electrex.

The patented cable tie has a unique open-lock head and tail design, allowing streamlined installation in a single movement.

The Q-tie's "pre-lock" system allows the tie to be temporarily mounted, making it particularly useful on projects where cables are added over time.

It can also be "blind-mounted" - a huge benefit to contractors working in situations where the mounting spot is out of view.

Visit Richco at Stand E62 to find out more about the Q-tie's time- and money-saving features.

Testing equipment specialist Fluke will be showing a wide range of professional testing tools aimed at electrical contractors, including the standard-setting 1650 Series Multifunction installation testers.

Fluke's new 1503 and 1507 digital insulation testers will also be on display at stand E56: delivering multiple test voltages, these compact and reliable testers are ideal for troubleshooting, commissioning and preventative maintenance applications.

Multi-Contact's successful CombiTac range has been expanded to support pneumatic and fluid interconnects.

The company has created a system that enables easy attachment and disconnection of liquid cooling equipment, ensuring leak-proof connections during disassembly as well as operation.

The new connectors, along with the rest of the CombiTac and other connector ranges, will be on show at the Multi-Contact stand at Electrex, E64.

High Voltage Systems is a leading supplier of high voltage test equipment, distributing testing and cable fault location equipment from a range of top manufacturers, including its new partner, French firm BCV Technologies.

BCV's expertise is in producing transformers and reactors for energy, construction and industrial applications, including marine and railway uses.

Windings up to 36kV and 6MVA can be produced; for more information visit High Voltage Systems on stand E10.

Electrex 06 is backed by the Electrical Distributors Association (EDA) and the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE).

With all the colocating shows retaining their own identity, Electrex will continue to be a meeting point for leaders in the electrical engineering industry.

The show takes place at the Birmingham NEC from 16th to 18th May.
