Organised by the British Automation and Robot Association, the Automation and Networking seminar is likely to appeal to specifiers, designers and users of automation systems, as well as engineers working in automation, controls, manufacturing and production.
Production managers and IT personnel, especially those involved in the integration of automation and enterprise systems, will also find the conference beneficial.
Ethernet is now widely acknowledged as the backbone of automation applications and enterprise systems, providing the opportunity for seamless networking from plant floor to boardroom.
Delegates at the conference will be updated on the application of Ethernet in industrial automation; technology developments; wireless networking and what automation means in the 21st century.
The National Infrastructure Security Co-ordination Centre (NSCC) will make a special presentation on the shift to Internet Protocol technology explaining what the Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) is and what implications it has for automation systems.
An integrated exhibition will give delegates the chance to discuss applications and technologies with those organisations participating in the seminar.
Drives and Controls is the UK's only dedicated event for drives, automation, motion control and power transmission.
A comprehensive programme of workshops and seminars will run alongside the show, which takes place at the NEC in Birmingham from 16th to 18th May.
