The recent Electrex exhibition has received high praise from the many exhibitors who took the opportunity to highlight their products and expertise.

The recent Electrex exhibition has received high praise from the many exhibitors who took the opportunity to highlight their products and expertise.

Colocating at the NEC with Drives and Controls, AirTech and MACH, Electrex was able to take advantage of a wide range of visitors from across the whole variety of shows.

Exhibitors found the mix of shows "very beneficial" and said exhibiting had been "definitely" worthwhile.

Many mentioned the quality of the visitors to their stands and the leads that resulted.

"We have always supported Electrex and attended every show since the company was formed in 1987", said Clive Britton, Manrose's Sales Director.

"We have always found it to be a worthwhile exercise and this show has proved no exception with a lot of existing clients visiting our stand along with new customers".

"Our new toilet seat extract system proved to be an overwhelming success and enticed a lot of people onto our stand".

A "significant" number of enquiries, including one which could result in the largest ever order for voice over Internet protocol specialist Volptech was the net result of a stand at Electrex.

Andreas Tapakoudes, President CEO, commented: "The amount of interest we had was very pleasing, with a large number of enquiries".

"We actually sold products we weren't even exhibiting".

"And a major enquiry which could lead to our biggest ever order - so yes, we were very happy with the show".

Mark Coia, Managing Director of Upower was similarly enthusiastic.

He said: "This is the first time Upower has exhibited at Electrex and, along with our associate company Tempa Pano, we found it to be a success".

"The show enabled us to meet both existing and potential clients and helped us to achieve a greater awareness of both our company and our products, the Tembar, Nova and Bloc busbars".

Eland Cables was another exhibitor to have benefited from participating.

The company's Business Development Manager, Simon Cunningham, said: "The show was a great opportunity to meet both existing and potential customers as well as to promote our extensive range of cables and ever-increasing product portfolio".

Paul Harwood of Voltimum said the company had generated a lot of registrations.

"We've had a good show with plenty of visitors".

"Many people registered with us and will be able to receive Voltimum's unique product encyclopaedia, which encompasses 33 different brands".

Although many exhibitors had returned to Electrex to build on past successes, there was also an encouraging number of new names on the exhibitors' list.

One of these, Megaman, was the sole representative of the UK lighting industry and, consequently, managed to gain a clear advantage over its many competitors.

The company's Managing Director, John Murphy, said: "The show gave us the opportunity to get together with electrical contractors that we wouldn't normally meet and we also had enquiries about developing products for niche markets".

"The stand was very busy and we certainly got value for money".

The organisation of the show was also praised, with setup and breakdown described as "easy" and "well structured".

The extremely positive reaction to this year's exhibition means that the next Electrex show in 2008 is already attracting a great deal of interest.
