The co-location of Drives with Plant and Works Exhibition, Air-Tech, IFPEX and Electrex, gave exhibitors access to people they may not otherwise come across.

This year's Drives and Controls exhibition provided a forum where engineers specifying equipment for drives, motors, power transmission, automation and motion control applications could meet the buyers and specifiers from every relevant field in one place at the same time.

The official attendance figure of 9658 represents a significant increase on the 2006 event.

A broad spectrum of companies exhibited at the Drive and Controls show, including drive, control and motor suppliers Brook Crompton, Bonfiglioli, Control Techniques, Rockwell Automation, WEG, Danfoss and Red Lion, who shared space with global organisations such as Hitachi and Siemens.

Drive automation specialist SEW Eurodrive and electronic packaging specialist Rittal also joined manufacturers of connectors and components including Weidmuller, Ilme and RS Components.

Brad McEwan of Rockwell Automation said "The decision to go back to Drives and Controls was well-founded: quality leads from a busy three days".

The co-location of Drives with Plant and Works Exhibition, Air-Tech, IFPEX and Electrex, gave exhibitors access to people they may not otherwise come across.

Dave Proud of KTR Couplings said: "It was a great way to meet new industries where our product could be used that we didn't even know about".

At a time when businesses are under increasing pressure, time out of the office for exhibiting at shows like Drives and Controls needs to be balanced against heavy workloads and return on investment.

Melvyn Potts of Danfoss said: "The cost of exhibiting at the show has been worth it even after just two days".

Drives and Controls is a bi-annual show co-located alongside Air-Tech, Plant and Works Exhibition, IFPEX, Electrex, Subcon and MACH.

Drives and Controls makes its next appearance between the 8th and 10th of June, 2010.
