A simple 10-point benefit plan best illustrates how the Shuttle XP can improve current procedures: total modularity of construction enables unit height changes to be made simply and cost effectively; 1in incremental storage facility gives unrivalled cubic capacity optimisation; new extractor mechanism gives highest worker productivity and reduced man-hour requirements; steel belted tooth belt drive provides faster travel and access times, combined with reduced noise and greater longevity; user-bespoke product delivery height can be achieved to suit both short and tall operators; a light curtain at the picking face gives maximum safety for all users; an automatic shutter door at the rear of the picking face allows for maximum extractor travel within a totally secure environment; an onboard weight management system monitors individual tray and machine capacity eliminating user error; the ability to create additional access openings post installation makes units future proofed against internal moves and re-organisation; and new controls and software designed to meet each organisations unique needs.
In addition, the new technologies employed in the Shuttle XP have enabled Kardex to widen the XP family and introduce Shuttle XPlus which allows for one common extractor to store and retrieve from a number of Shuttle units installed side by side but using only one access point.
"We listen to what our customers have to say through close communication and market research and adapt our products in line with their changing demands and market trends", said Nick Tuggey, Marketing Director of Kardex Systems.
"We're delighted with the success of the Shuttle XP, which was launched at the Hannover Fair in Germany a few months ago, as it is already exceeding our expectations.
Now, we're looking forward to seeing the results of the UK launch.
We feel that the increased efficiency and productivity gains are just what the UK industry needs at present".
