Measurement service goes with the flowmeter

Ultrasonic flowmeters have become well recognised and widely accepted measurement technology, but many applications do not justify their outright purchase.
Over the past few years clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeters have become a far more recognised and widely accepted measurement technology.
The permanently installed meters are frequently used to replace more conventional technologies in industries such as waste water, petrochemical and pharmaceutical.
Furthermore, engineers in companies throughout the country turn to a portable ultrasonic flowmeter whenever they wish to evaluate a system, test a pump or balance a system.
One of the market leaders in the supply of clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeters is Katronic Technologies of Leamington Spa.
Katronic has been at the forefront of the development of this metering technology for the past ten years and has established a reputation for the supply of reliable, robust ultrasonic measurement systems.
As well as the sale of the instruments, it was identified that in order to properly meet the requirements of its customers Katronic needed to offer more than just a sales service.
Although some customers are able to identify a permanent requirement for a flowmeter, some only require in instrument for a shorter period.
To this end Katronic introduced two additional services to its product portfolio.
One of these is a flowmeter hire service for the portable instruments where customers do not have sufficient annual demand for buying their own instrument but do require measurements on an occasional basis.
The second option is for a measurement service whereby a Katronic engineer attends site with a portable flowmeter and carries out measurements on behalf of the customer.
For many customers the measurement service is the ideal solution as it allows them to obtain the measurements that they require, in a short period of time without the need to divert their own engineers from their daily tasks.
Furthermore, by employing a member of the Katronic service team they can have absolute confidence that the flowmeter is being used correctly as well as receiving immediate feedback on the flow measurements, pipe conditions and any application-related issues that might exist.
This measurement service has proved so popular with customers that Katronic has recently employed a full-time service engineer in order to meet demand.
The measurement service is available to anyone in the UK and is charged at an hourly or daily rate based on requirement.
The measurement information is presented to the customer in the form of a detailed report following the engineers' visit.
Furthermore, Katronic would offer a special discount to any customer who decides to purchase a flowmeter following a measurement service.
