P6060 pressure sensors have PRT sense element

A Kavlico product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Nov 26, 2008

Kavlico has introduced the P6060 range of pressure sensors that are suitable for air pressure measurements in oxygen concentrators, respirators and ventilators.

The sensors are described as rugged and lightweight and they have a piezoresistive (PRT) sense element in a low-profile surface mount package.

The sensors measure 21.29 x 16.71mm and weigh a maximum of 1.3g.

Using a 5V input, the sensors provide a 0.5 to 4.5VDC linear analogue amplified output proportional to pressure.

The user can specify a digital output that conforms to SPI protocol.

Internal temperature compensation using an ASIC ensures a +/- 1 per cent of span total error band (TEB) over 0-60C.

Available pressure ranges include 13in H20 and 0-1 through 0-75 PSIA, PSIG, and PSID.

The 96060 sensors are EMI/RFI and ESD protected, experience no mounting position effects and provide a fast response.

The sensors can be configured with custom pressure ranges and port connections dependent upon the end-user's requirements.

For applications that do not require a +/- 1 per cent accuracy, the P6050 pressure sensors are available with a +/- 2 per cent TEB specification over temperature.

The sensors are RoHS compliant.
