A DriveWorks product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Nov 13, 2002

Applying the principles of knowledge-based engineering to succeed in an increasingly competitive environment will be the main theme of the KB4 presentation at SolidWorks World 2003 Orlando.

Applying the principles of knowledge-based engineering to succeed in an increasingly competitive environment will be the main theme of the presentation at SolidWorks World 2003 Orlando, given by Glen Smith, Technical Director of KB4, the developer of DriveWorks KBE software.

The session will examine the issues surrounding knowledge-based engineering and discuss the benefits of applying these principles in practice.

Case studies will be used from different industry sectors to demonstrate how individual manufacturers have applied KBE to capture product design rules to create customised, designed-to-order products.

Just as SolidWorks has brought 3D solid modelling into the mainstream, the presentation will reveal how KBE can now also be applied easily and affordably to the mainstream for the benefit of designers, engineers and their customers.

Each year SolidWorks World brings together designers and, engineers, managers and partners to discuss ideas, trends and the technology shaping the future of mechanical design.
