Kemtron has been appointed as official distributors for Schlegel Systems, the company that invented the conductive fabric over-foam shielding gasket system

Kemtron, a leading provider of high quality EMI shielding products in the UK, has been appointed as official distributors for Schlegel Systems, the company that invented the conductive fabric over- foam shielding gasket system This appointment means that Kemtron are now able to provide customers with the largest range of profiles to suit most shielding applications including flat and rectangular stick on gaskets D shapes, C shapes and complex profiles that can be attached to hardware

Applications for the EMI shielding products will be found in the computer, telecommunications and electronics industries where stringent industry regulations on EMC/EMI have to be adhered to.

At the centre of the Schlegel shielding gasket design is resilient open-cell polyurethane foam.

This allows the gasket to fit perfectly into uneven gaps and joints.

The springy foam yields low closure forces.

Because of the excellent engineering aspects of the foam formulation and material claddings developed by the company the gaskets are UL94 V-O recognised under the highly respected component programme of the Underwriters Laboratories.

The shielding effectiveness of the products that Kemtron will now be able to market is indicated by the provision of highly conductive fabrics to attenuate EMI at the most critical segments of the spectrum.

The gaskets are routinely tested beyond the normal 1GHz limit.

This is becoming an extremely important design issue because of the greater importance of being able to deal with increases in base clock frequencies and their associated harmonics.

The addition of this new range of products means that Kemtron can now offer the most complete portfolio of EMI shielding products available from one source.

In addition to the new Schlegel products Kemtron's existing range includes knitted wire mesh, conductive elastomers, beryllium copper fingers and the Steward range of ferrites.
