The KC 2300 is a series of high performance EMC backshells that provides excellent protection including Tempest levels but is reduced in size and weight from other backshells in the range making it ideal for many modern, high density applications.

Part of the new KC 2000 range of EMC backshells for circular connectors introduced by KEC during 1999, the KC 2300 uses Iris spring technology to provide overall screening and the interwoven braid and slotted tube technique to provide individual screening.

The Iris system consists of a helically wound spring that reduces diametrically to make 3600 contact with the cable screen and the interwoven braid and slotted tube provide the same service for the individual braids.

A maximum level of protection is ensured within a simple to assemble and reworkable system.

Whereas other KEC backshells using this proven combination are dual function systems using an O-ring for environmental sealing, the KC 2300 is a single function device that uses a heat shrink boot.

This reduces the length and weight of the overall system without compromising the screen performance.

The KC 2300 series fits all standard circular connectors and is available in straight, 45° and 90° format.
