Glands for EMC protection and panel
termination
The KG3 and KG4 EMC panel glands provide high levels of overall and/or individual screening and are ideal for use where a cable screen has to be terminated at a bulkhead, panel or enclosure entrance
The KG3 and KG4 are two EMC panel glands from KEC that provide high levels of overall and/or individual screening and are ideal for use where a cable screen has to be terminated at a bulkhead, panel or enclosure entrance Both glands provide high levels of overall screening and EMC performance by use of the KEC braid trap system

EMC glands and backshells modified for fibreoptics
KEC has modified standard EMC glands and backshells so that they can be used to secure fibre optic cables without damaging the fragile fibre optic strands
The KG4 has the capability for screening individual wires by interweaving and winding in a special braid that is secured by the braid trap nut either separately or in conjunction with an overall screen.
This method provides the highest levels of performance and protection without any of the drawbacks associated with other methods such as solder sleeves, daisy chains or pigtails.
Production and rework times are minimised with the KG glands because of the simple mechanical methods used.
They are supplied as standard in aluminium alloy and finished in electroless nickel with other materials and finishes available to special order.
Sealing to the panel is by 'O' ring and to the cable by heat shrink boot.
The KG3 and KG4 are highly cost-effective, lightweight and compact and are suitable for a wide range of applications including instrumentation and communications systems.
