The Frank Kenyon Challange Trophy will be staged at the Manchester Golf Club on the 28th July 2005 in memory of the founder of the Kenyon Group.
The Frank Kenyon Challange Trophy will be staged at the Manchester Golf Club on the 28th July 2005 in memory of the late Frank Kenyon, founder of the Kenyon Group, the specialist adhesive and coating supplier based in Oldham, Manchester.
The charity golf day is raising much needed funds for the Dr Kershaw's Hospice, which provides short term specialist care and support for patients and families where cancer has been diagnosed.
The charity depends upon donations to maintain the level of care and support they offer to terminally ill patients and their families.
At present the hospice needs more than GBP 1.1 million each year.
It does receive a percentage from the local primary care group, but over GBP 800,000 must be raised independently.
Organiser Derek Patterson says: "We hope to make it a fun day with a relaxed attitude carried through onto the golf course with more than enough competition for those in that frame of mind".
"The event will be set up for serious golfers to have an excellent game, but there's room for serious fun, and the less practised players as well, with an array of goodies and prizes awarded at the end of the day".
"The event is already creating lots of interest with donations already pledged to the charity".
"We are looking for sponsors to pledge as much as possible for the event and/or donate a prize for the evening auction".
