Powerful ultrasonic cleaning from compact device
Kerry Ultrasonics has added a new style of submersible ultrasonic transducer and generator to its product range, which delivers a powerful ultrasonic cleaning action but is also highly compact
Any fine powder residue remaining on components during heat treatment could cause them irreparable damage and consequently endanger Chromalloy's relationship with customers that include Rolls Royce and Siemens Westinghouse.
An on-site demonstration of the Sonopush's ability to remove persistent post-coating contaminants convinced Chromalloy of the new transducer's worth, but several additional factors were also taken into consideration.
Phil Garrett, Coatings Engineer, explains: "The Sonopush is more efficient and more cost effective than traditional designs, more robust, smaller, and can easily be moved from tank to tank".
The majority of the parts are made from nickel superalloys and range in size from 30 to 900mm.
