Keyence has made a number of enhancements to the VHX-600 digital microscope, which offers a large depth of field that is at least 20 times greater than conventional microscopes.

A 54-megapixel 3CCD-mode camera and a selection of high-resolution RZ optical design zoom lenses with up to 5,000 times the magnification are intended to provide excellent chromatic aberration correction and image quality.

Targets can be freely observed with the camera/lens unit either handheld or mounted in the multi-angle viewing stand.

The observation can be performed at all angles without manipulating the target, helping to reduce the time required for observation and to avoid overlooking any defects.

With the new high dynamic range (HDR) function, it is possible to see details that previously went undetected.

With RemaxII, an advanced high-performance graphic engine, images can now be observed in 16-bit gradation through the acquisition of RGB data from each pixel.

In addition, the fast 3D image composition mode allows the user to obtain sharp images on specimens with large height differences that cannot be focused or observed easily with conventional microscopes, such as printed circuit boards (PCBs), electronic components, automotive parts and biological and medical specimens.

Through simple mouse operations, the VHX-600 performs real-time, on-screen measurements of the distance, radius, angle and area of the target.

Usability is further enhanced with the Double'r automatic lens/zoom recognition function, which uses new technology to make observations even smoother.

It is now possible for the VHX to recognise in real time which lens is mounted to the camera and the current magnification being viewed.

Magnification setting is no longer necessary when doing 3D observations.

The large-capacity 160Gb HDD enables the storage of moving and static images.

Images can also be recorded with the system's CD-R/RW.

A UXGA (1,600 pixels x 1,200 pixels) high-resolution 15in (38in) LCD display provides bright, high-contrast images.

A built-in local-area-network (LAN) port enables file sharing and/or the transfer of data to a local PC or to other remote locations.
