Sensor measures mould cavity pressure indirectly
Cavity pressure is usually measured with the sensor fitted directly in the mould cavity, but Kistler's new PinSens force sensor type 9204 is ideal for indirect cavity pressure measurement
Pressure and temperature sensors with the same front diameter have identical measurements and can be inserted into the same borehole.
The unique combined pressure and temperature sensor with 4mm front diameter can measure both quantities simultaneously.
Sensors for measuring the temperature of the moulded component are used in addition to mould cavity pressure sensors.
Mould cavity pressure already reveals correlations of up to 95% with the moulded part characteristics.
This can be increased to as much as 99% by adding temperature measurement.
Kistler surface temperature sensors are equipped with a unique thermocouple system in direct contact with the moulded component produced.
This system, together with the low mass of the thermocouple, makes Kistler sensors significantly faster than standard thermocouple used in the injection moulding process.
