Sensor measures mould cavity pressure indirectly
Cavity pressure is usually measured with the sensor fitted directly in the mould cavity, but Kistler's new PinSens force sensor type 9204 is ideal for indirect cavity pressure measurement
Installed in PiezoSmart sensors is a transducer electronic datasheet (TEDS), with sensor and calibration information as well as user data.
It offers functions that guarantee comprehensive quality assurance of data.
In Spring 2004 the industry standard (IEEE1451.4) on which PiezoSmart is based was codified in Rev 3.0 making IEEE1451.4 conditionally approved by the IEEE, marking a milestone in technical standardisation and harmonisation.
About 40 companies have either been involved in the creation of this standard or intend to implement it in their products.
It offers the user involved in routine measurement with sensors standardisation across the range of brands and products.
Kistler was one of the initiators of this standard and has made an important contribution over past years.
PiezoSmart from Kistler therefore represents a worldwide standard and demonstrates the viability of the innovative concept of automatic sensor identification.
