System calibrates pressure sensors

A Kistler Instruments product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Mar 22, 2007

Kistler's new system can calibrate up to six piezoelectric pressure sensors at any temperature from ambient to 250C.

Kistler has added a new high-temperature calibration system to its range.

The new system can calibrate up to six piezoelectric pressure sensors at any temperature from ambient to 250C.

Made up of a solid metal manifold with installation ports for six sensors and electric heating cartridges with thermostatic control, a reference sensor, a pressure generator and a signal evaluation unit, the new system is easy to operate and is available in 19-inch rack mounting and bench top versions.

The system is suitable for the fast and accurate calibration all types of piezoelectric pressure sensors, including Kistler PiezoSmart types with sensor identification.

When PiezoSmart sensors are calibrated, the determined calibration values are saved to the Transducer Electronic Data sheet (TEDS) in the sensor, eliminating the need for manual recording of the calibration data.
