Pressure sensor handles multiple glow plug types

A Kistler Instruments product story

The Kistler 6056A removes the need to have more than one type of sensor available to cover a range of glow plug geometries.

Kistler has released a pressure sensor for use in glow plug adapters.

It removes the need to have more than one type of sensor available to cover a range of glow plug geometries.

The Type 6056A is based on the well-proven M5 size sensor element fitted with a miniature connector.

This allows the sensor to be fitted deep inside a wide variety of adapter bodies.

The use of a glow plug adapter, in place of the original glow plug, permits cylinder pressure measurements to be taken close to the combustion without the need for a separate measuring bore.

Kistler designs and manufactures adapters to suit the geometry of the original glow plug and the cylinder head space available.
