Kleinmichel has just completed supply of a fully automated glazing line for Sprinter van production at Daimler Chrysler in Duesseldorf.

A Kleinmichel robot automation system has revolutionised the glazing process for the Sprinter van at DC in Duesseldorf.

Both rear screens of the van are automatically installed using a slide-mounted robot, equipped with a gripper-mounted VMT vision system, which installs glass quickly and independently of vehicle body colour.

Two KUKA KRC2000 robots are used for glass gluing and installation, respectively; the gluing plant also uses Kleinmichel hydraulic pumping and dispensing technology.

The facility has just entered trouble-free production and operates at a cycle time of 45 seconds.
