Proper lubrication boosts gearbox efficiency

Kluber oils have been proved to improve the load carrying capacity and efficiency of gear drives whilst showing cooler running and considerably longer service life.

Energy consumption is a critical measure for modern businesses.

Often overlooked is the energy-saving potential from the use of high-performance gear oils.

Kluber oils have been proved to improve the load carrying capacity and efficiency of gear drives whilst showing cooler running and considerably longer service life compared with conventional mineral gear oils.

Gearboxes that are installed, maintained and lubricated correctly can give many years trouble free service yet even these show improved performance with Kluber synthetics - particularly in worm gear applications but also in spur, bevel and helical applications too.

Not every user has a preventive maintenance system and oil can reside in gearboxes for many years.

The attitude that "If it's got oil in it it's OK" is quite simply wrong.

Oil ageing costs money and may result in: reduction of scuffing load capacity; tendency to pitting formation; unacceptable change in viscosity; increased wear; reduced corrosion protection; and increase in release of free acids.

Users of the Kluber Klass oil analysis program can point to savings such as reductions of better than 20% in on-load current drain from worm conveyor gearboxes.

And multiplied out over numerous units this amounts to a considerable saving in power consumption.
