Food-grade lubricants keep chocolate lines running

A Kluber Lubrication GB product story

Ongoing problems with chain drive gearboxes on a confectionery moulding plant production line led to downtime and loss of production of one of the UK's leading confectionery products.

Ongoing problems with chain drive gearboxes on a confectionery moulding plant production line led to downtime and loss of production of one of the UK's leading confectionery products.

The gearboxes were old and prone to leaks.

As part of its European supply contract and business support package the household-name manufacturer contacted Kluber.

Kluber was asked to look at the problem and recommend a product to overcome the problems being encountered.

The recommendation was to use Klubersynth UH1 14-1600.

This product enabled the company to fulfil its food grade requirements, upgrade to a superior product and eliminate leaks.

Since changing over to the Klubersynth UH1 14-1600 there have been no reported problems with these gearboxes the downtime they were experiencing caused by these gearboxes has been eliminated.

Following this success, the customer asked Kluber to look at other areas of its production, and a proposal was drawn up for the lubrication of gearboxes, bearings, chains, airlines and hydraulics.

The customer now uses eight Kluber special food grade lubricants, primarily on a prominent brand of segmented chocolate product.
