Non-toxic lubricant suits cold filling

A Kluber Lubrication GB product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team May 7, 2007

Kluber Lubrication's speciality grease Kluberfood NH1 87-703 Hygienic is suited to the cold filling of sensitive beverages or food products such as baby food, fruit juice, yoghurt or beer.

In aseptic cold filling plants, sensitive beverages or food products such as baby food, fruit juice, yoghurt or beer are filled into sterile containers under aseptic conditions.

This takes place without heating the product in the final container or adding preservatives.

It is a process ensuring minimised impact on the product - and one making a maximum of hygiene an absolute necessity.

Naturally, any lubricant used in these aseptic cold filling plants must be physiologically safe.

It is specifically for this purpose that Kluber Lubrication now offers its new speciality grease Kluberfood NH1 87-703 Hygienic.

Kluberfood NH1 87-703 Hygienic is a grease for valves and fittings that was developed and tested in close co-operation with one of the world's leading manufacturers of cold filling plants.

In filling taps containing EPDM seals as well as in those for filling barrels or tapping beer, Kluberfood NH1 87-703 Hygienic ensures hygienically safe and reliable lubrication.

It may also be used for rolling bearings operating slowly under low loads in the beverage industry.

This new special grease is compatible with seals made of EPDM and in fact extends their service life.

The user therefore benefits from less downtime and a higher production output.

Since Kluberfood NH1 87-703 Hygienic can be used for seals as well as for bearings, the number of lubricants required in a specific application can be reduced.

Due to the grease's resistance to various media such as disinfectants, cleaning agents, water or steam, its consumption is reduced and so are the operating costs.

Kluberfood NH1 87-703 Hygienic complies with the German food law (LFGB, 5, 1/1) and meets the requirements of NSF-H1 certification.
