Audio/visual signalling specialist Klaxon Signals has launched a new range of intrinsically safe products.

Consisting of a sounder, beacon and unique sounder-beacon combination unit, the range has been specifically designed for use in hazardous area applications.

All three products are also ideal for use in other fire and industrial applications.

The Syrex IS Sounder has three alarm stages and a low current consumption.

It is available with a choice of 49 tones and has a powerful sound output of 100dB(A).

The Syrex IS Beacon is fitted with six high intensity LEDs and a prismatic lens for effective visual warning.

The standard beacon colour is red, but clear beacons and colours such as blue, green and amber are available on request.

Both products can be used independently or fitted with the corresponding part to form the unique sounder-beacon combination unit.

In order to produce an intrinsically safe circuit, all units must be used with a suitable Zener barrier, or with any galvanic isolator specified by the system certificates.

Both the sounder and beacon are rated for ATEX category 1 (zone 0, 1 and 2) use.

They are made from ABS flame retardant material for maximum strength and rigidity and are also weatherproof to IP65.
