Accelerated Technologies can now produce rapid prototypes in a new, ceramic-filled material for stereolithography.
This will allow British manufacturers the possibility of sourcing their engineered plastic products at considerable savings over their suppliers.
The company has initially set up sales and marketing in St Albans with the longer term view of creating production capability on a suitable site in Europe.
Parent company Kemflo International is a long established supplier of plastic mouldings to the automotive, defence, leisure, plumbing, manufacturing and OEM markets in Asia, Australia and the Americas.

The company has a highly automated operation on two sites - a 40,000m2 facility in Taiwan and a new purpose-built 100,000m2 facility currently being constructed on a 200 acre site in Nanjing near Shanghai in China.
Kemflo Europe is the brainchild of Managing Director David Walker, who has been sourcing injection mouldings from the Far East for many years.
"British manufacturers are constantly looking at ways to reduce production costs and increase margins.
Now, with the extremely high production standards and low prices available in Taiwan and China, it is possible for British manufacturers to source top quality components at half the price they are currently paying".
Kemflo can produce virtually anything in plastic, including valves for the plumbing industry, automotive air filters, plastic wood extrusions such as patio decking, garden sprinklers, swimming pool skimmers and filtration.
The company also produces and assembles electrical components and finished products for OEMs including circuit boards.
The company is currently producing 1 million items a week, rising to 3 million items on completion of the new site.
Walker commented: "Kemflo can offer the complete service to its British customers from R and D, specifying and tooling, through manufacture, assembly, packaging and automated warehousing and delivery.
We can also design and produce packaging and point of sale materials so finished product comes in to the UK ready to use, or ready to put on the shelves.
The success of the company is in part due also to the high investment made in automation and streamlining of all areas in production and also the dedication and hard work and effort put in by the whole team".
